Lessons are booked with a phone call, so Ryan can answer your questions and set a time around the tide. We are by appointment only.
We teach out of Sunsplash Park, home of the Volusia County Lifeguard Headquarters. Lifeguards hold the north end of the park, which makes this a truly safe place to learn. Ryan meets his clients at the SOUTH end, next to the picnic tables and the new showers and bathrooms, right by the beach stairs. Location, location, location: tons of free parking, a few blocks from the Hilton and the Wyndham, right by the International Speedway Boulevard beach approach, dead center of Daytona Beach.

Surfing with A Pro is built on teaching and coaching, taught personally by Ryan Ragan, the pro surfer who founded the school. Book the hour to get started, or take a longer session and spend the extra time on style, technique, and wave count. Board, leash, and rash guard are included at every length.

03: What a lesson costs
Surf Lessons on the World's Most Famous Beach
We offer private and group Surf Lessons in Daytona Beach for adults and kids ages 7 and up, from $70 with all gear included: board, leash, and rash guard. Our surf camps run one, three, or five days for all ages, one-on-one surf coaching takes competitive and improving surfers further, and we also teach paddle board (SUP) lessons and keep a full rack of surfboard rentals, call (386) 308-9951 and Ryan will point you to the right one.
Semi-Private Surf Lesson
$80 per session
Catch some waves with 2-4 other surfers.
Private Surf Lesson
$85 per session
One on one surf lessons with one of our many instructors.
Lessons run 1 to 2 hours: beach-safety tutorial first, then water time, then a free 30-minute practice session when boards are available. All gear included: board, leash, rash guard on request, wetsuits in winter. Groups run generally between 6 and 10.

Surf Camps in Daytona Beach
Our surf camps run 1, 3, or 5 days from $80, 2.5 hours a day with a pro. They're for people of all ages, and we group students by ability using the buddy system: kids 7 and up, adults, and total beginners all welcome. All gear provided, on a lifeguarded beach.
